Your voice

What happens to my voice recordings?

They are transcribed, and then deleted. We keep the text of what you said, not the recording of you saying it. Nobody at Rounds sits and listens to them, and they are never played to another user.

When exactly are they deleted?

Once the transcription has succeeded and we have read it — usually within a minute or two of you finishing. If something goes wrong on our side, the recording is kept until it works, because otherwise your answer would simply be lost. It is never kept for any other reason.

Can I go back and change an answer?

No. Once you move to the next question, that answer is final. This is not a form you fill in — it is a conversation, and it is kept short partly for that reason.

If you have said something you would rather not have, or you want to answer everything again, delete your account and start over. Deleting removes everything, and nothing stops you signing up again with the same email afterwards.

Can I type instead of talking?

Yes, on every single question. Voice is the invitation, never the requirement.

Your photos

Who can see my photos?

Before anything happens: nobody. There is no feed and no browsing on Rounds, so your photographs are not sitting anywhere to be scrolled past.

When we introduce two people, she sees his main photo first and decides. Only if she accepts does he see hers. The rest of the photos stay hidden for both of you until you have both said yes after the call.

What is the verification video for?

To confirm you are a real person. It is seen only by our review team, never shown to another user, never part of your profile, and deleted once your account has been reviewed.

Introductions and calls

How many people will I see?

One at a time. That is the whole idea. You are not choosing from a catalogue, and neither is anyone else.

Are the calls recorded?

No. Not by us, not by anyone — there is no recording feature in the app at all.

Why only ten minutes?

Because the cap is what makes it easy to say yes to. Ten minutes is enough to know whether you can talk to someone, and short enough that nobody has to be the one who ends it. The app ends it.

What happens if I say no afterwards?

Nothing is said to anyone. The other person is never told that you were asked, what you answered, or that you existed. A "no" is silent everywhere in this app, in both directions.

Can my family see my chats?

Only if you choose it. You can add a wali — a guardian or family member — who can read the chat. When you do, the other person is told. Nobody is ever read without knowing.

Your account

How do I delete my account?

From inside the app, or from this page. It removes your profile, your photographs, your recordings and your chats.

Can I pause instead?

Yes. Pausing stops introductions without deleting anything, and you can start again whenever you like.

Does it cost anything?

No. Rounds is free while we are starting out, and if that ever changes we will say so clearly before you pay anything.
