Rounds is a matrimonial introduction service. This policy describes exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and what we delete. It is written to match how the product actually works rather than to cover every eventuality.
Four things we commit to:
Marital status, whether you have children, religion and sect, education, working status, your view on working after marriage, living arrangements after marriage, willingness to relocate, and caste or biradari if you choose to give one. You confirm every one of these on screen before it is used.
During sign-up we ask questions and you answer by recording your voice. Recordings are transcribed on our own equipment — the audio is not sent to any third-party transcription service.
Audio is kept only until the recording has been transcribed and the information extracted from it, so that nothing is lost if processing fails and has to be retried. Once processing succeeds, the audio is deleted. You may also type your answers instead of speaking at any point.
You provide photos, and a short video used to confirm you are a real person.
The verification video is seen only by our review team. It is never shown to another user and never forms part of your profile. It is deleted after your account has been reviewed.
Photos are never published. There is no browsable directory of members in Rounds. When you are introduced to someone, your main photo is shown to that one person, and only after you have approved being introduced to them. Your remaining photos are shown only if you both say yes after speaking.
Calls between members are carried live and are never recorded — not by us and not by our calling provider. Messages you exchange after matching are stored so that you can read them.
Only people you have been introduced to, and only what that stage allows: first your age, marital status, sect, education and location; then your main photo once you have approved the introduction; then your remaining photos and full profile only if you both say yes after speaking.
You may nominate a guardian who can read your chats after you match. This is optional. If you nominate one, the person you matched with is also told that your chats are visible to them — nobody is read without knowing.
Our review team sees your profile, your photos and your verification video in order to approve your account.
Our staff can currently read conversations between members. We do this to understand how the service is being used and to investigate reports of misbehaviour. Every such access is recorded against the individual staff member. We intend to narrow this so that conversations can only be read when someone has reported a problem, and we will update this policy when we do.
Profile information, photos, messages and verification videos are stored with Supabase, on servers in Mumbai, India. Calls are carried by LiveKit. Voice recordings are transcribed on our own equipment and are not sent to a third-party transcription service.
You can delete your account from inside the app, or at rounds — delete account if you no longer have it installed.
Deleting removes your profile, your photos, your verification video, your sign-up answers, and closes your chats. It cannot be undone. If you only want a break, you can pause your profile instead — you will receive no introductions and nobody will see you, and you can return whenever you like.
Rounds is for adults seeking marriage. You must be 18 or over. We check date of birth at sign-up and every account is reviewed by a person before it becomes active. See our Child Safety Standards.
